Selling 3200 tickets in a 3600 capacity stand 16:05 - Dec 17 with 7984 viewsCamdenDale

Why can't we sell away tickets with allocated seats and make an extra £8,000? Just don't get it...

I doubt the stand actually holds 3600 nowadays with broken seats and seats taken out to repair others in other stands

If that were the genuine reason, lets just throw away £8000 shall we, every time?

Doubt it is though. Expect the trouble at the recent Oldham game has led GMP to adopt a safety first policy, and we'll see the section nearest the TDS cordoned off.

I think the police bill is £8000 more for 3600 than it is for 3200

Makes sense 3200 as at least everyone - away fans - get a seat.

It's a fantastic allocation 32% of the total capacity.

But if the difference in income makes up for that, then that leaves 400 away fans without a seat who might have wanted one?

Some commercially aware person at the club needs to get the abacus out of the cupboard and do some basic maths.

Is it because the club cant be arsed stewarding allocated seating i wonder? There cant believe many other grounds in the country knocking nearly 10% of the capacity for every stand somehow

Nottingham Forest are not the Biffo's the difference is they behave away from home but no doubt the ob will go OTT on this fixture just so they can try and justify the bill when what happened at the Biffo Match were the ob fault like they wanted trouble to happen in the TDS

Forest have sold out the last couple of away allocations and I believe they were both "allocated seat" matches. A bit of a discussion between the clubs and the authorities might see a few more hundred sold, say 3,400? Lower league fans aren't used to having to sit in a specific seat whereas fans of teams that often bring large followings are.

They haven't got the guts to release a statement to the public stating they never followed procedure at the Oldham Match if our fans were to do what Oldham did our fans would be given instant bans that same night

I've heard in the past that the police basically don't trust our stewards to enforce 3600 fans making them sit in reserved seats, therefore advise against/don't allow us to sell all 3600.

Days like this one weren't supposed to happen to Rochdale.

Leeds had 3379 in the away end last season, Sheffield Wednesday 3395.

Undoubted knowledge? Or just the application of common sense and using my brain?

Now this is just barmy - and you can see why Rochdale fc get so much criticism on here at times. So let's get this right , our stewards can't handle organising getting 3500 people seated in allocated seats in the away end? So what happens if the home end sells out with allocated seating for this game?

Simples.

The biggest home end, Pearl St, holds about 2600. The stewards can only count up to 3200, then their brains explode (it's been tested under laboratory conditions), hence the problem with the Willbutts capacity.

Well.. can anyone think of a more logical explanation?

Who has actually confirmed that the away end is unreserved for this game?

I'm sure like last years 2 FA Cup games that Forest will receive the same allocation as Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday which was around about 3,450 and the game will pass without incident.

Think he mentions the OB because they are incompetent. They stood by and allowed the situation in the Pearl st to arise.
In ost other grounds the little biffo boys would of been highlighted early and asked to leave very quickly before more and more irate home fans crowded round.
Its commonsense...opps commensense=GMP , yeah too good to be true.

Do you really think the police wanted trouble? It was a no win situation for anyone with Oldham fans amongst the dale fans. The likelihood was an idiot was always going to kick off

Correct therefore what happened is their fault as they never followed their own procedure's any other ground in England/Wales it would of been dealt with in nano-second's

Sounds like a fair compromise. Their accommodation will be as good as on many a premiership ground.
