Shrewsbury expected to sign Bobby Grant and Jaques Maghoma. They've already got a quality squad.

Maghoma? Very good signing.

Yep. They've offered him a contract at any rate. And I agree, he would be an asset to any club in League One.

Town fan here. Danny always had potential but too much of a show boater. Lightening quick but rather than beat man , get down wing and cross he would have to show off and beat man again. Just like Jay Emmanuael Thomas who has been released. Super ability but poor attitude. Both great League One wingers if managed right

McClure would be a good signing but after reading the Wycombe forum sounds like his body' isn't up to it. Shame looked a good player.

This is the One, I've waited for

Guess that puts paid to Balatoni, unless you're after two centre halfs?

Until this signing today, we had just Mason Holgate (18 year old) and Jack Cowgill (18 year old) as centre halves. We released M'Voto and Cranie, and Ramage's loan ended (since left Palace but we're not in for him).

So I'd suggest we'll see another two brought in.

There was photos of Balatoni's car, taken in Barnsley last week. But journo, Alan Nixon (Partick fan too) reckons he's been in touch with the "management at Barnsley" and they've "no idea where this rumour is from".

We shall see.

Conrad was 'favouriting' tweets from BFC fans at the weekend.

I'll be gutted if he doesn't sign now. Seems worth a gamble at this level.

It wouldn't be a gamble from what I've seen of him. He's certainly up to League One standard quality wise. Whether or not he'd be happy here is another matter.

A guy I know at Partick, who usually offers the odd bit of info, is being very tight-lipped about the movements of the out-of-contract players.

As said previously, I would have Richard Brittain here in a heartbeat.

A bit of a character and a great passer of the ball when sat deep. Problem is, his family live in Inverness and are "very comfortable there". He'll probably end up at a club in that region.

Wouldn't touch any of them. Eremenko was decent a few years ago, but is past it now.

Missed 3 out and I think Nathan Eccleston could become a weapon under Hill

No, he wouldn't.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Still wouldn't touch any of them. Eccleston this season has been abysmal - for both Partick and Kilmarnock.

It's also the opinion of every manager who has signed him or recruited him on loan, before getting rid.

I have judged him on his 'career aspects'.

He's played for numerous clubs, has never made enough appearances for any and, as a striker, hasn't scored anywhere near enough goals.

He didn't have a season at Killie, he had a few months. He was at Partick longer. I know people associated with both clubs and neither are sorry to see him go.

He wasn't at Dale long enough to form an opinion and, as you say, he was with us during trying times, but there are better - nay much better - options elsewhere.

We may not have to face these two again next season (relief):

Eccleston seems typical of many a footballer who once those dreams of playing at the highest level are dashed, spend the rest of their time treating football as a job and picking up a wage. Some toys are just too broken.

He was here long enough to form the opinion that even Barnes-Homer had more to his game.
