Stick or twist?
I'd like to think that England make a real go of trying to win the test match today. If it becomes "must not lose" and we try and plod our way to lunch, eating the overs up, the momentum of Stokes and the last four days will be damaged.
Reckon if that's our plan and they get us out quickly today (batsmen 9, 10 and 11 aren't offering much right now), then that gives massive confidence to the Kiwis.
For me, it's half an hour this morning, playing a few golf shots, and offer them a challenging but not impossible total . More likely to pick a few wickets up if the opposition are trying to score runs. |  | | |

Cook going early should help. Great innings by him, but he's opened the door now to an early end to the innings. A lead of 350 would be perfect. McCullum won't baulk at that and the conditions should help the seamers.
Still can't believe Stokes innings yesterday. The highlights showed a young Asian girl shedding a tear when it was announced he'd scored the fastest ton at Lords! | |

I wouldn't want anyone taking the job just for the money - especially not an Aussie
Grave doubts about any Aussie taking charge for an Ashes series - not because I think they'd be biased but simply because of the unnecessary pressure they'd be under, from down under.
If we're successful against NZ (and the signs are good) I'd leave Farbrace in place for the duration of the summer, then see where we stand. | |
