Memories of Heysel 12:00 - May 29 with 1583 viewsAlbert_Whitehurst

An older article that has resurfaced. If you want Phil Neal's memories....get your wallet out!

Justice for the 39.

Met Phil Neal on Soccer Am a few years back. Was very Partridge like, and would swear in every other word - but in a really fake way as if he was trying to show he was down with the kids. Didn't really work when he was going on about a succession of corporate bookings he had. Was generally just a bit thick. They banned us from saying "Yes Boss!" in his company too.

Didn't Phil Neal have some Rochdale connections at some point? Was he one of David Kilpatrick's associates?

Poll: Should Bury shop elsewhere for frames?

A very good article, so sad that a memorial has not been built for the victims of Heysel. I remember watching this final on the TV and just thought it was crowd trouble between rival fans, but what happened was disgraceful and those guilty of causing this in the name of football should hang their heads in shame!

Of those apparently prosecuted as a result of Heysel there is no official figure of how many served part or all of their sentences...cause none did!

England's shame.

Why dont we have a minutes silence every year for this or an inquest for justice?

And why did UEFA choose a crumbling stadium to host a European cup final??? I'm not condoning the actions of the two sets of hooligans that caused the tragedy but the venue was a accident waiting to happen

Various things had an input in the tragedy above and beyond the state of the ground.
Very much a subject never spoken about in great detail, even more so in Merseyside.
Surely now after the full details and justice for Hillsborough victims is exposed isn't it time the full story and who's to blame for this disaster came out, identical to Hillsborough many people went to watch a game and never returned.
