However, this quote stood out for me:
"To have got promoted to League One, I really thought we were going to see attendances booming again, especially when we were in and around the play-offs, but even then we were only getting 5,000 fans."
So how does he equate that with signing for a club whose gates are lower than Port Vale's? |
The reasons attendance's are so low at clubs like us & valiant's is because prices of the product is simply unaffordable have gone up to what they use to be old premier league and currently at certain championship club's. That's why your seeing increase in attendance's the likes of Women's Football, National League North/South, Evo-Stik and non-league's like them everybody need's their Football Fix we are a Football loving Nation! |  |

There was a story on SSN this evening about concerns around ticket sales for England's next game. Sounds like their first game really was awful too. Not sure about crowds increasing lower down the pyramid either. I follow Whitby quite closely and they've lost around a third of their fanbase in the last 5-6 years.
Our crowds have been consistently low, and while matchday prices may become an issue next season, they've been decent value for a number of years. The main issue, as it almost always has been, is getting people into the ground and ensuring they come again.
Any offers we do next season should initially be aimed at those who don't come, not those who do. eg. £10 ticket offers to Sunday League teams, free tickets to schoolkids with an accompanying adult for a tenner. |  |

442s correct. Plenty of lower league clubs have been struggling due to their crowds. Looking at the excellent pitchero and non league daily site and there are a number of clubs struggling due to dwindling crowds |  |
