We'll finish even higher if we keep getting given goals that have already been flagged offside.

Four Four two season prediction on 10:56 - Aug 4 with 3466 views | DomDale | Whilst I'd take any place with guaranteed safety now I think that's harsh. Mid-table doesn't seem un realistic to me. What did they have us predicted to do last season?

I think they predicted something equally as poor - or marginally better. Dale continue to confound, though, so I pay no attention to predictions any more. They tend to be based on the big-budget clubs doing well and the more poorly resourced doing the opposite. It never quite pans out that way. Look at the amount of time Bradford and Portsmouth spent in League Two (although I think Portmsouth will get it right this year). Likewise, Sheffield United in League One (although I see stronger teams again this season). Of all the pre-season previews out there, I tend to find The Two Unfortunates' among the best, as they at least make a conscious effort to get to lower league games over the course of the season. Their League Two one is out today, revealing Notts County have 40 players on their books. Forty! At League Two level!

We are all happy (I think) staying out of League 2 for as many seasons possible . Hill has never finished below 9th in any full season in charge of us so I'll say 9th minimum again. Considering our gates and budget his record is quite remarkable.

Four Four two season prediction on 12:13 - Aug 4 with 3380 views | DaleiLama | I'm hoping all the planets align and we host a home playoff game as our 47th game - finishing 6th. If Hendo leaves before the end of Jan, however, I fear we may slip back to the mid reaches of the table or even sink into the bottom half. [Post edited 4 Aug 2015 12:20]

Four Four two season prediction on 12:46 - Aug 4 with 3282 views | Albert_Whitehurst | Hoping Hilly doesn't read this thread...he'll feel a little hard done by from 4-4-2 and Dale fans. He's never finished below 12th in any season. Looking at the 10 year picture...and aside from 2011/12...this must have been one of the best periods in the club history for league positions? 2005/6 - 14th (Parkin) 2006/7 - 9th (Parkin & Hill) 2007/8 - 5th (Hill) Play off finals 2008/9 - 6th (Hill) Play off semi-finals 2009/10 - 3rd (Hill) Promotion 2010/11 - 9th (Hill) Joint highest ever 3rd tier finish for club 2011/12 - 24th (Eyre & Coleman) 2012/13 - 12th (Coleman & Hill) 2013/14 - 3rd (Hill) Promotion 2014/15 - 8th (Hill) highest ever 3rd tier finish for the club *edit* ... for those who believe we'll falter if we sell Henderson...think of all the strikers we have sold in the last 10 years during this our purple patch. Four Four two season prediction on 12:48 - Aug 4 with 3274 views | Dickydaler | Realistically, if we stay in League One I'd be reasonably happy. Although like most fans I dream of a play off place. I do think too much emphasis has been made about what devastations might happen to the club if Hendo leaves. He is only one player, and I know he has become our main goal scorer, but I believe that we have quality in the squad and someone will step up to the mark and take his place.

Agreed. We do go through this every time the club sells a player...and we have always managed. Onwards and Upwards!

I don't think the sky will fall in if Hendo leaves, but I think with him we have a shot at the play-offs - without him I think there will be too many other good teams who will accrue more points consistently. Just an opinion.
