Latics new manager 12:50 - Aug 4 with 3429 viewsChaffRAFC

Quite a few Latics fans I know are very worried with the appointment of Darren Kelly. One of them just sent me this:

https://www.sportcareers.co.uk/case-study

Am I alone in thinking that it basically reads "we made up this ace Powerpoint presentation and made his CV look brilliant for him and Latics swallowed it up."?

I know everyone has to start somewhere but this is just reminding me of the Steve Eyre appointment more and more and I think Latics are in trouble this season. He'll be out of work by Christmas is my bet.

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

" He'll be out of work by Christmas is my bet."

Latics fans where I work don't even give him that long. He's already 'reconsidered' his backroom team by getting rid of Jim Harvey, the scouting & recruitment consultant, because he didn't fit in with his 'philosophy'. They reckon he'll be gone by October.

I agree Chaff. Time will tell, of course but I think 'they've been had' as the saying goes.

Their problem will be whether they can afford a pay-off when they want to get shut.

Worrying days ahead for the Latics fans I fear.

Smacks of an eyre situation, this case study doesn't help his credibility either. Oldham, Huddersfield and Newport to lose in my accumulators each week

"a bespoke management philosophy brochure"

Sounds like bullshit, smells like bullshit... it must be bullshit.

Poll: What are you planning to do v Newport

They managed to mis-spell 'presentation' in their own piece. Incredible.

To be fair Steve Eyre had been at City for 20 years and has been at a Championship club since he left us, so to be in football that length of time in this day and age is a fair effort.

I think Kelly has had 3 years at York City, a few months at Sunderland and what seems a pretty traumatic start with the Biffo's.

I wonder if the advertising campaign on Kelly's CV will open some sort of legal loop hole and the Latics will get rid, as I believe that they would if they could. However, he will have gone through an interview process, as SE would have done, so the men at the top made the decision to hire them.

David Dunn wasn't exactly singing his or the Biffo's praises when he signed, more about how it was the nearest club to his home and that's why he signed!

Everything thats been, has past. The answers in the looking glass!
