I'm a big fan of Vardy as a player, but his reaction to his self-inflicted trip was pretty damn stupid and the FA have a duty to protect referees from such reactions. Refs get a bad enough press as it is - and all of that notwithstanding the refs poor performance on the day.
Precisely the same thing would've happened if Kane had reacted the same; only difference is he's less likely to react that way.
Vardy won't have done himself any favours with Roy Hodgson either. The last thing England will need during the Euro's - in the heat of a qualifying game, for instance - is that type of reaction. Let's hope he's capable of learning that particular lesson.
