It's the first time I have seen £750k mentioned as the figure we got for him. I take that figure with a pinch of salt.

What kind of sell on figures would be involved if Scot Hogan was involved in a big money move?

I'd have thought (& hope) it's 25%.

Let's hope so. Are any other clubs in line for a payment, ie other previous clubs of his?
Potentially then a £5 million fee , would mean a million pounds to Dale.

There is no previous club involvement as he was playing for Hyde (I think) without a contract, hence him signing for free

Thanks for that.
For purely selfish reasons let's hope for a big money move for Hogan then.

Well if hogan does move for lets say £5m -25% to Dale thats a cool £1.25m.
First thing the club should do with that money is actually pay off the stadium debt...
That would leave 600k in the bank plus the £55k for the next 9 yrs.....

My all time favourite Dale player Mr Lyndon Symmonds

Investing in the Stadium facilities would be a good thing, especially if that could help increase Stadium income, in the bars and corporate areas etc. Obviously, though the club would have to weigh up how much should go to Hill for squad maintenance and or growth.

"After spells with FC Halifax Town, Stocksbridge Park Steels, Ashton United and Hyde, Hogan was handed a second chance with Rochdale in May, 2013.

And it’s one he grabbed with both hands, as he ended the season with 17 goals in 33 league games, earning him a £750,000 move to Brentford".

They could even think about trying cheap season tickets for a year in a bid to build the fanbase across every age range. In fact, why hasn't anyone thought of this before?

Remind me, how does the old proverb go, something like 'always count your chickens before they're hatched ...'

The story would be more credible if Vardy had been transferred and Leicester were seeking a replacement. Still, for Scott Hogan's sake as well as Dale's, I hope it's not just made-up-by-the-Sun tripe.

Their story is factually correct.

Undoubted knowledge? Or just the application of common sense and using my brain?

Brentford sold Andre Gray to Burnley for £9 million! Id imagine they'd want a similar amount for Hogan - if not more!

How do the twos stats compare though? Had Andre Gray been injured the same amount as Scott?

Nope. Gray had one, very successful full season with Brentford before moving on.

I think he's obviously over his injury nightmare now looking at his exploits last season and this pre season. Yes it was a bad injury but they do happen - and an awful lot of players have now had similar injuries and recovered to have fantastic careers and command very good transfer fees. (Shearer, Van Nistelrooy, Pires, Del Piero amongst them).

Indeed. Hiking prices and losing fans with disingenuous season ticket pricing is standard in these parts. Your heretical thinking will be met with scorn....

Very early to say he's over it, has he even played ten league games for them yet?
