6000 attending on a Tuesday 09:20 - Sep 28 with 5650 viewsaleanddale

Is this a club record ( recent times say last 15 seasons ) in the league?

Fair play Bolton packed the away stand out.

Zero trouble all the bolton lads I talked too were disappointed but full off praise for how we had an obvious gameplan and stuck to it ( worked to perfection )

Good loud vocal fans - not sure why they "turned" at the end.. Chris Taylor getting ironically cheered off!!!

'Big' midweek attendances (>5000) for LEAGUE games, including away followings (since we started recording them in 97/98) are:

12/2/99 v Hull. Att: 5374 (1695 away fans)
17/10/00 v Chesterfield. Att: 5008 (1028)
10/3/09 v Bradford. Att: 5157 (2741)
13/4/10 v Darlington. Att: 5371 (126)
28/9/10 v Huddersfield. Att: 6121 (3174)
10/4/12 v Sheffield U. Att: 5309 (3422)

* Figures for the abandoned Oldham game in November 2010 was never released.

I've never quite understood why the Yanks put the month before the day? Guess they like to be different.

I think they're the only nation in the world to do it, n'all. I once got an article back from a US client with tracked changes altering all of my dates. I was proper fuming I was.

I changed them all back and returned the article emblazoned with the Union Flag*.

* I didn't.

Didn't we play bury on Tuesday 2006ish? Think it had been postponed over the Christmas period and was played in the January or February.

Surely the two time FA Cup winners would have brought 1000+?

It kinda makes sense, in that if you're describing an event, by starting the description with the month it occured it sets a context which the listener or reader can latch onto more easily - but only if you're a typical American listener/reader, and the upward inflection in their speech precipitates it.

On the other hand, it plays havoc with UK computers. It used to drive me mad at work when I was setting up networked spreadsheets/databases that the default setting for dates was American. I must've sent dozens of emails asking our (useless) IT Dept why they didn't change the settings to UK standard before releasing the machines, and then each new update had to be reconfigured... aarrrrrrrrrrggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

It mattered, too. Get the day/month the wrong way round and suddenly your business (whatever it is) will be bolloxed.

Is 1248 millies the equivalent of 0.1248 bury fans?
