Poor defending for the goals. Bunney, while silly to react like he did, can consider himself unlucky to get a red for that. Their player tripped up Bunney off the ball, he pushed their player off the ball. Surely its either 2 yellow's or 2 reds? Although as with history Simeone/Beckham and Pearce/Henderson - the retaliator gets punished more than the instigator. | |

Bunney, for one. Waded in several seconds after everyone else, having dashed over from the left wing. He's young and he'll learn, but it's harder to learn from a red card than from a quiet word from the manager. That may have happened, but somehow I doubt it.

Bunney waded in on Saturday (along with Calvin who also got booked last night).....so a few games sat in the stand might teach him a proper good lesson. Dale are taking too many of these silly silly cards,
Hope Tanser can come in and do a good job now and Bunney has to fight for his place.

This not giving referees decisions to make is just an excuse for bad officiating. A referee always has decisions to make. It is their job. That wasn't violent conduct, especially as the referee determined that a sly kick by the other player wasn't. | | | |

Why? Explain why is it rubbish to say "oh well it might be a bad decision but y'know if you give a referee a reason to give a decision then it's okay that it's bad". I'm fed up of referees being given a pass because they had a 'reason' to give a poor decision. If that was a red card then Bunney, Andrew and a couple more berry players would have been sent off during that crowd scene after Cannon was chopped in half on Saturday. If an official is conned by a player then he has an excuse. That one wasn't. It's a terrible decision, made twice as bad because he only books their player. Last night, the club's official Twitter feed referred to "incredible" bookings and "soft free-kicks" which resulted in bookings.
A little partisan tweeting is to be expected but one such tweet referred to Camps being inexplicably booked for questioning the referee as to why he didn't receive a free-kick.
He cannot do this, that's why he was booked.
