Sadly Joshua passed away this morning. Horrible news, but it's even more horrible that for the past few months he's been suffering, and since early December he's been almost comatose due to analgesia.

Thoughts are with his parents.

RIP Joshua. No one should have to suffer like that - never mind a 5 year old little boy. Heartbreaking.

Very sad. Perhaps Dale might consider retiring his squad number.

Bloody awful for all concerned but heart goes out to the family. They knew it was coming, but there must be a huge hole and sense of emptiness now.

I wonder if Dale could have small patches of his number sewn onto their shirts for the rest of the season? EFL showed great flexibility with naming him in the squad. Be a lovely gesture to remember the brave little fella.

Awful what that poor lad has had to suffer, he fought to the end.

Could we have a minutes applause in the 55th minute (his squad number) at next weeks game in memory?

R.I.P Josh

Great to see the club have taken this fantastic idea on board and retired the number 55.

If the club could have a shirt framed and include a collage of photos of him with the team and have it hung somewhere in the main stand I think it would be a beautiful reminder of Josh.

RIP little man. A truly heartbreaking story from start to finish.

Rest in peace little man,an unbearably sad story and some of the updates from his parents have been too heartbreaking to fully read through for me,I just hope the family can find some comfort in the support they've received and hopefully continue to receive...... it would be nice for the club to plan something in the future that we can all get behind

Just wanted to say how sad this is. I am a season ticket holder at Gillingham FC but felt I had to register to log my condolences. Rochdale are a great club and the lad was far too young to leave so early.
