Egg chasers at crown oil today 16:40 - Jan 15 with 6108 viewsBluedart

Been walking the dog over near the ground and egg chasers were playing a friendly had a little look on and to be honest I feel so sorry for our groundstaff after all the cold weather and all the rain over night the pitch doesn't look good it's cutting up really bad and I think the manager will be pissed off too by the looks and if there's any really heavy rain this week and it could be 50/50 for Saturdays game IMO the egg chasers have/are doing a lot of damage

Dry from Tuesday looking at the forecast. Which areas of the pitch looked bad? It's been fine after rain recently.

Why did 442's post get voted down?

Every winter once the rugby starts we get 2-3 of these threads and the pitch is nearly always fine come the time of the next Dale game.

Tangled up in blue.

Under the terms of the agreement for Dale to buy back full control of the stadium, it was agreed that the rugby league club stay on as paying tenants, and within that they are allowed to play matches including friendly matches.

Like has been said previously in this thread, there is plenty of time to get the pitch ready in time for the ground staff, and they will have fairly decent weather for this time of year to get the pitch ready for The Dale's requirements.

Just to add its the ground staff's job to get the pitch ready, after both football and rugby matches , in time for the next game, so no need to feel sorry for them, I am sure they are professional and good enough to come up with their usual good work to provide a reasonable if not good playing surface.

I'm guessing Jamshedpur in India, probably from around 2012.

I managed to get a picture of the groundsman inspecting the spot where the scrum kept collapsing and having to be reset. It doesn't look promising

Rugby League scrums aren't really contested. It's just a means of restarting the game with the forwards out of the way, so the backs can have a run with the ball.

Union scrums used to be good but latterly they've become a mess with most referees struggling to make any sense of what's going on.
