Gretna Crowd Scene 21:44 - Feb 26 with 3277 viewsTVOS1907

I recently purchased some images from our FA Cup tie at Gretna in 1991. I recognise one or two people on this one; what about anybody else?

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

I recognise a few, some I can name. Who's that eating his fingers ?

Looks like 'Skeffy' top left corner.......... do you want other names ?

Gareth Gray, Tony Brown, Alan Reeves to name but three more....

There's a lot of "mop" hairdo evident in the ladies.

Amazed to see a couple of blokes wearing shades. I remember it as being a very 'grey' kind of day, overcast

On the contrary, it was particularly sunny at kick-off, which was 2pm as the he floodlights weren't good enough for the TV cameras.

Obviously it got greyer once the sun went down.

Ah, fair enough, I just remember it being very gloomy for much of the match, a bit like the game - not helped because there was nowhere to get a pint in Gretna and my mate had picked me up too late for us to stop in Penrith, our usual watering hole on t' way to Carlisle

The fella in the camo jacket looks like he's being taken down by the neck from behind too.

And if the lass with the scarf on in the front has doubled in size since, she could be the one doing the Chase on ITV now?

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!

I'm one of the shades wearers - can't remember whether due to sun or not!

How shite was the football back then!!

Replay we couldn't hit a barn door attacking the Sandy and Gretna missed two sitters.

We have come on leaps and bounds on and off the pitch since these gloomy days yet we still pulled in 4000 + for the replay.
