I think the only way this happens is if we win Saturday and both Millwall and Southend lose again meaning we start the Bradford game in the play off spot (6th).

The big hope is that we are on a massive high after back to back Easter wins and Southend and Millwall react badly to last Mondays defeats - certainly Southend was totally unexpected at home to Mk Dons. Millwall not so much so versus a tough opponent in Fleetwood away - but looking at the highlights Millwall could have easily been 2 up early on. They face Oxford who we know are very good on their day and are easily capable of causing them problems. Hopefully Shrewsbury are fighting for their league 1 lives v Southend. Can't wait!

Our home support isn't suddenly going to jump up to 4750 just because we might have a chance of the play-offs.
I think it might...
Especially as DDB pointed out we have a dream Saturday!
The fact we are in this position is incredible.
If the club went in all out assault mode for 6 days - granted we need to beat Oldham first... There is no reason we cannot attract 2000 or so floaters - lapsed - fell out of love supporters..

When did we last have 4000 home fans at a league game?

Well, (and hoping my brain's clicked into gear now) we don't NEED to win, as long as both Southend and Millwall lose too, in which case it's as you were going into the last game but with us needing 3 defeats in a row by the other two which I agree is unlikely
Edit: and that scenario would also allow Bristol Rovers back into the mix

Like the optimism but I just don't think a change of the playoffs will generate that much excitement - I think we've struggled to get much more than 4,000 even when we've achieved promotion. I'm going to go for 3,500 but hopefully we will sell out for the playoffs if we make it.

Your optimism is admirable, but the stats are against you.
When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

That night just summed up what it is to be a Dale fan! Over 5000 home fans turn up to see us promoted for the 1st time in over 40 years. We play the bottom of the table club who promptly beat us with possibly their only attempt at goal - and get relegated even though they won!

So the chances of selling 4000 season tickets is a little optimistic.

It depends on the circumstances really - how many times have we had to win a game to be in the league 1 playoffs in our history? It could be uncharted territory!

Bradford beat the Wombles they are guaranteed a play off place. Is it possible players will be rested for last game to protect them from picking up an injury/protect them for the play offs?

Yes but we have to beat Oldham first. What Bradford do on the final day could be meaningless unless we take care of our own business.
