Can't argue with anything he said, but it's hardly selling the spectacle to the uncommitted. It's the only opportunity to reach the general public. Why not enthuse about the young kids, accentuate the positive; give the impression that there's something exciting happening that people might want to turn up and watch.

News Report
at 10:24 28 Oct 2011

League One outfit Rochdale have parted company with manager Steve Eyre following a disappointing start to the season. Currently seventh-bottom of the highest level in their 104-year history, a club spokesman said, "Steve was given an unprecedented budget to work with this season; not to have us contesting the play-off places after an entire quarter-season is simply unacceptable". The club's unofficial messageboard will take over in a caretaker-capacity. "How hard can it be?", one user was quoted as saying.

OK Here Goes!

Sell Spotland. Sell Boundary Park. The two councils and two clubs build a 20,000 seat stadium in Royton (or perhaps the Milnrow end of Kingsway business Park) with conference facilities, and/or, even better, in conjunction with a major retailer. There will never be a better time; both teams playing at the same level; they have three-quarters of a ground, we have half of one.

Hornets can make their own arrangements

Thoroughly enjoyable; we were awful for half-an-hour, then totally dominant for the rest of the match. Clearest sending-off you'll ever see, a paradigm demonstration of the law, but probably didn't affect the result. Can't afford to give soft goals away, though.

'Kin "Safety Reasons"!!!!!!!!!!!!
at 20:20 2 Nov 2010

OK, the pitch wasn't fit, no problem with that, but why do they have to dress it up as "safety reasons". It's enough to just say you can't have a proper game of football on it!

PS It's near as dammit stopped raining now!

PPS Persisting down now!
