Dale will be sending an under strength side to Northwich this Saturday for another pre-season friendly. With many players used in the friendly against Bolton on Friday night, it will give an opportunity for others to stake a claim for a first team spot.

Dale have regularly travelled down to Northwich over the years for a pre-season friendly, and only last season came away with a 2-1 victory thanks to a wonderful goal from Glenn Murray.

It’s expected that we’ll see some of the fringe players given a run out, so expect to see players like Nathan D’Laryea, Kyle Lambert and Ben Muirhead playing for Dale amongst others.

Possibly in the Northwich side is former Dale striker Keith Barker, who will be turning out for the Vics, unless he has cricketing commitments elsewhere. He joined the Vics earlier this year. He also had a trial for Warwickshire back in May. It isn't 100% confirmed that he's still at Northwich.

For those of you with a windscreen to look out of, try heading down  the M6 taking  junction 19. Follow the A556 towards Northwich for approximately 3 miles. Turn right onto the A559 towards Lostock (just as the road becomes a dual carriageway). Turn right at the traffic lights immediately before the Slow and Easy public house. Turn left at the crossroads by the Black Greyhound public house (Signposted). Follow the road until the Renault Garage (Lookers), on the left, turn left into Wincham Avenue. The ground is at the bottom of the road on the right.

Admission to the game will be £8 for grown ups, with old people getting in for a fiver and those pretending to be under sixteen get in for just a pound.
