League 1's longest serving
Thursday, 29th May 2014 09:00 by Col

In the latest pointless Summer article, we look at how long each manager has been at their club. 9th August does seem a very long way off.

So what we can we learn from this? Not much other than Keith Hill will start the season as the 12th longest serving manager in the division compared to being the 35th overall longest serving manager out of the 92 professional clubs.

What is surprising possibly is that none of the League One clubs have changed their manager this year, tho’ eight have changed managers within the past twelve months. Even more surprising is that there are four teams who have changed their manager more recently than Notts County.

The full list of longevity is as follows:

Russell Slade — Leyton Orient 6th April 2010

Karl Robinson — MK Dons 10th May 2010

Dean Smith — Walsall 4th January 2011

Darren Ferguson - Peterborough 12th January 2011

Micky Adams — Port Vale 13th May 2011

Phil Parkinson — Bradford City 29th August 2011

Steve Davis — Crewe Alex 14th November 2011

Gary Johnson — Yeovil 9th January 2012

Joe Dunne — Colchester 27th September 2012

Paul Cook — Chesterfield 26th October 2012

Gary Alexander — Fleetwood 6th December 2012

Keith Hill —Rochdale 22nd January 2013

Simon Grayson — PNE 18th February 2013

Steven Pressley - Coventry 8th March 2013

Lee Johnson — Oldham 18th March 2013

Paul Dickov — Doncaster 20th May 2013

Mark Cooper — Swindon Town 24th July 2013

Peter Taylor — Gillingham 13th October 2013

Nigel Clough — Sheffield United 23rd October 2013

Shaun Derry — Notts County 6th November 2013

Russ Wilcox — Scunthorpe 20th November 2013

Steve Cotterill — Bristol City 3rd December 2013

John Gregory — Crawley 3rd December 2013

Danny Wilson — 17th December 2013

All dates come from Soccerbase, so if they’re wrong, blame them.
