With the transfer deadline approaching, Dale have added to their ranks with the signing of Brighton striker Shamir Fenelon.

The 20 year old front man comes to Spotland on loan for the full 2014-15 season from Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion, and will go straight into the squad for Saturday's Roses clash with Bradford City.

So what do we know about him and is he any good?

* Well he came through the youth ranks at Brighton, and scored twenty goals in a season for the Seagulls.

* He had a successful loan spell at Conference South side Tonbridge Angels scoring four goals in eight games

* He had a loan spell at Torquay last season, wherein he scored one goal in twelve appearances in League Two.

* He made his Brighton debut on the opening day of this season, and played in each of their first three games - one of which was when he replaced former Dale striker Chris O'Grady

* Dale assistant Chris Beech has said that we were tracking him in preseason but felt he was out of our reach due to this good start to the season.

* He was described during his time with Tonbridge as being quick, clever, composed and having a good work rate.
