If the local rumour mill is to be believed, then Jim McNulty from League Two Champions elect Bury is set to sign for us before the week is out after falling out of favour at the JD Sports Arena.

The potential signing ticks a lot of boxes - good passing ability, left sided and well known to Dale boss Keith Hill having played under him at Barnsley. So it's a signing that makes a lot of sense and will add to a defence that has been weakened by the departure of Jack O'Connell to Blackburn.

McNulty's time at Bury has been the subject of much rumour after a fantastic start with the Shakers last term. He has six months remaining on his deal at Bury.
