Refwatch Preview: Barnsley v Dale
Friday, 1st May 2015 19:52 by TVOS

David Webb will make the trip down from County Durham to referee Dale’s final game of the season at Barnsley on Sunday.

The official, who joined the league list in 2008, is taking charge of one of our matches for the first time since September 2013 when he refereed the 3-2 home defeat of Wycombe.

Twelve months earlier he had been in the middle at Spotland for a 2-0 win over Barnet, but prior to that, David had refereed three consecutive 2-2 draws involving Dale.

That sequence started in April 2011 when he was in charge of the excellent home game against Brighton.

In October 2011 he was back at Spotland for the 2-2 draw with Colchester, while the following March Mr Webb was in the middle when we grabbed a point from a 2-2 draw at Huddersfield.

Other Dale games refereed by David are the 2-0 home loss to Dagenham in October 2008 and the 2-1 loss at Hereford in the closing weeks of our 2009/10 promotion campaign.

So far this season David has refereed 30 games, showing 67 yellow cards and four red.

His most recent fixture was Coventry v Colchester on 11th April, while his previous visit to Barnsley this season saw them thrash Burton 5-0 in the FA Cup.
