Where is Coventry? Tuesday, 16th Jun 2015 17:10 by Col Dale have been handed a home tie in the first round of the Capital One Cup, with the visitors being fellow League One side Coventry City. It'll come as no surprise to anyone to learn that a home game against Coventry City has all sorts of historical edges to it. With the FA Cup victory back in 1971 against Noel Cantwell's men, and back in 2003 it was Gary McAllister's turn as his side were defeated 2-0 at Spotland. But the roles are somewhat reversed for this fixture. Last season's finishing places have Dale as the seeded team, and Coventry will come to Spotland as the plucky outsiders hoping for a giant killing. On paper at least. It's not the first League Cup game with Coventry. A late Andy Milner goal won it for Dale back in 1991, but in fairness it was already as a contest after Coventry won the first leg 4-0 at Highfield Road. The game is likely to be played on Tuesday 11th August, but with fixtures moved around all over the place, this is not yet confirmed.
