Hery today, gone tomorrow

It's been announced that midfielder Bastien Hery has left the club and headed up the M6 to join Carlisle United.

The departure has been expected since it was announced that he had been transfer listed at the end of the 2014-15 season, and there'd been rumours of Carlisle's interest ever since. He has signed a one year contract at Brunton Park.

His two years at Spotland saw enough from the Frenchman to have left with good wishes from the Dale supporters. Always a talented player, his introduction into the side towards the back end of the 2013-14 promotion season proved to be the catalyst that pushed Dale over the promotion threshold.

Last season also saw some fine performances by him, and the winner at Swindon will be forever remembered, but League One proved to be a somewhat unforgiving division, and it's believed that for all the wonderful bits of skills he showed, a lack of ball retention cost him his first team place.

In signing for Carlisle, he'll be teaming up with former Dale midfielder Jason Kennedy
