Ian Henderson has signalled his desire to see out his playing days at Spotland by signing a two year extension to his current contract.

Well I don't think anyone saw this coming.

After attempts in the Summer to get Henderson to extend his deal, it seemed almost inevitable that last season's leading scorer would leave Spotland at the end of the season. Indeed, Keith Hill had made voices saying that he would be happy to have that situation rather than sell Hendo early.

But all that changed with the news that Henderson has signed a two year extension to his current deal keeping him at Spotland until the end of the 2017-18 season to the delight of the Dale supporters.
