Four offered new deals

Keith Hill has offered four of his squad new deals following the release of this year's retained list.

The first to be offered a new deal is Ashley Eastham. Having not featured for most of the first half of the season after losing his place to a pre-season injury, he has been a vital part of the resurgence we enjoyed in the second half of the season. Playing in his preferred position on the right side of the centre of defence, he has formed a partnership with Niall Canavan that added some much needed steel to the club.

The second with a new deal on the table is Josh Lillis. Not for the first time in his time with the club, it looked like Lillis' time at the club was coming to an end after he was dropped in favour of a young keeper on loan from Man United. However, he regained his place and pulled off a string of fine performances during the remainder of the season. Lillis was awarded the Supporters' Player of the Year trophy at the weekend with over 50% of all votes cast.

Calvin Andrew has also been offered a deal. Having arrived at the club with a reputation that did little to enthuse the supporters, he has impressed supporters during his time. Whilst most performances have come off the bench, he's certainly proved his worth at times and his performance during the victory at Walsall was one of the stand out performances of the whole season.

The decision to offer a new deal to Ollie Lancashire has caused a surprise in many quarters. The former Aldershot defender has recently lost his place in the first team following the loan signing of Niall Canavan and its only been injury to Canavan that have brought him any appearances since then. But he's clearly well thought of by Hilly who has made him his captain during his three year spell at Spotland.
