Dale have signed winger Samni Odelusi on a loan deal for the season which includes a review in January.

Samni, or Oluwasanmi Babafemi Oluwaseu Odelusi to give him his full name, has been brought into the club from Wigan Athletic on loan as Keith Hill starts making the final touches to his first team squad.

The 23 year old Londoner has spent time with QPR and Bolton, as well as loan spells at Coventry and MK Dons before signing a three year deal with Wigan twelve months ago. It was an injury hit season that limited him to just three appearances.

His most successful time seems to have been the loan spell at Coventry where he scored three times in fourteen games, one of which was against us on his debut. An online poll had 73% of Coventry supporters wanting to retain him after that loan.

When asked about his style of play when signing for Wigan, he described himself "I bring a lot of directness, pace and power up top, and I try to get the goals as well."
