Refwatch: Dale v Wimbledon Thursday, 25th Aug 2016 08:00 by TVOS Chris Sarginson will make his fifth visit to Spotland as a referee when he takes charge of Saturday’s home game against AFC Wimbledon. The Staffordshire official last made the trip up the M6 in November for our 3-1 defeat of Swindon in the FA Cup. Eight months earlier he had overseen another 3-1 home win for Dale when we saw off Scunthorpe in a League One fixture. Mr Sarginson was also the man in the middle in December 2011 when the 0-0 home draw with Yeovil proved to be Steve Eyre’s last match as Dale manager. We have met Chris on the road on several other occasions and Saturday will be his tenth Dale appointment. The most recent of those was in November 2013 at Chesterfield in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, where Dale were on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline. Chris’s full list of Dale games is: Oct 08 Lincoln (a), D 1-1 Chris has refereed only one other match so far this season, that coming last Saturday when he was in charge of Walsall v Charlton.
