Refwatch: Charlton v Dale
Thursday, 29th Sep 2016 22:20 by TVOS

Dale will meet referee Robert Jones for the second time in six weeks when they travel to Charlton on Saturday.

The Liverpool official, who is in his first season on the referees’ list, was the man in the middle at Port Vale on 16th August when Dale went down to a 1-0 defeat.

Mr Jones began the campaign with Newport v Mansfield and has followed that up with a mixture of other fixtures in League One and League Two, as well as ties in the EFL Cup and Checkatrade Trophy.

His most recent appointment was last Saturday at Fleetwood v MK Dons, where he awarded the visitors two penalties in their 4-1 win.

Rob moved up from refereeing in the National League last season, where he was rated as the leading match official.

His campaign culminated at Wembley where he was in charge of the Forest Green v Grimsby play-off final that saw The Mariners promoted to League Two.

He had also been appointed to Leyton Orient v Staines in the first round of the FA Cup and ran the line at Wembley for Barnsley v Millwall in the League One play-off final.
