Refwatch: Hartlepool v Dale
Tuesday, 8th Nov 2016 12:00 by TVOS

Referee Scott Duncan is the man in the middle for Dale’s final Checkatrade Trophy group game at Hartlepool on Wednesday.

Mr Duncan is in his fifth season on the league list and is one of the Select Group 2 set of referees who mainly take charge of matches in the Championship.

We last saw Scott in April when he was in the middle for Dale’s final home game of last term against Swindon.

The match ended 2-2, but the visitors finished the afternoon with only nine men after two red cards in the second half.

Coincidentally, when Mr Duncan first refereed at the Crown Oil Arena back in November 2012, he also sent-off two visiting players in Dale’s 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers.

Other Dale games refereed by Scott are our 3-0 JPT win at Crewe in September 2014, a 1-1 home draw with Burton earlier that year and last term’s 2-2 draw at Bradford.

So far this season, Scott has refereed 12 games, showing 40 yellow cards and one red. His most recent match was Blackburn v Wolves just over a week ago, while on Saturday he was fourth official at Sheffield Wednesday v Ipswich.
