Transfer window closes today
Transfer window closes today
Thursday, 31st Jan 2008 05:59

Today is the last day of the Transfer Window, meaning that any deals to bring any players permanently to the club or to allow anyone else to leave must be done by today.

Of course, you can work your way around the window by signing players on emergency loans (with a view to permanent signings) for a few weeks yet, but it will no doubt prove to be a busy day for Dale manager Keith Hill.

It's obvious to all that bringing in a striker is seen as a number one priority following the sale of Glenn Murray to Brighton last week. It leaves us rather short up front, and with Rene Howe unavailable this Saturday, options will be limited.

Hill has admitted that fetching in a replacement for Murray has been awkward and no doubt any club we go knocking on the door of will be simply upping their prices due to the Murray money which came into the club last week.

There's been a couple of rumoured names. Witton Albion striker Adam Warlow has been the subject of an apparent bid from Dale, and there's even been messageboard talk of a return to Spotland for Paul Connor.
