Wrexham relegated
Wrexham relegated
Wednesday, 23rd Apr 2008 05:56

Despite our best flag waving efforts, Wrexham were relegated from the Football League on Tuesday evening after a 2-0 defeat at Hereford United - a result which has implications for ourselves.

The win for Hereford has meant that it has become that little bit more difficult for Dale to finish in the top three now. For that to happen, Hereford cannot win either of their remaining games.

Those games are away at Brentford on Saturday, and then at home to Grimsby Town on the final day of the season.

Whilst the league table may suggest that Wrexham can mathematically escape the drop, the final league game of the season between Dagenham and Mansfield means that Wrexham would need a minimum of seven points to stay up.

Readers can now be assured there'll be no more stories on this site written in Welsh.
