Apparently there is a strong rumour that we are "in talks" with Adam Johnson.

In reality a would say not a chance but in a footballing sense it would be a good move for him.
Personally I think he is about the best English player in his poisition in the PL. Far better than Walcott and Oxo and he also scores a good few goals.
He needs games and if he came to us he would be the first name on the team sheet every game.

Liverpool had an offer of £16m turned down for him only a week or so ago..
This apparently upset Johnson and his agent, who accused City of pricing him out of any move.
City on the other hand, are reluctant to sell to a team they consider as rivals for trophies.
I cannot see this deal happening unless it benefits City in some way.
Could be that their interest in Luke Shaw could persuade them to consider a move of this kind ! It is for sure they wouldn't consider us as rivals !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But even then I cannot see it being anything other than a loan deal.

Putting aside the Saints link (which I find very dubious), what a great pity it is that Johnson is not playing reguarly. I rate him very highly, has played well and scored a few goals for England. TBF it is only a rumour and god knows who starts them...
Wages would be a problem unless he gets a massive signing fee. Also I fully expect he could go to Liverpool and any number of bigger clubs before us.
Its nice to be linked with these types of players considering we were vying for League 1 players not so long ago but this is probably too much of a stretch.

This is only a rumour, and I have no intention of getting carried away until he's wearing a pin striped Saints shirt, but there does seem to be some substance to this one.
There has not been much said about it, but there was a brief mention of it by sky, which was later removed and not spoken of again which, in it's self is suspicous. Of course there has been bits and pieces on Twitter for weeks which isn't much to go on either, but I'm starting to wonder if the club are onto a massive coup here. Could this be the "Big One" that NC has reportedly spoken of?
As for the Liverpool bid, the media said £16m, but the reality according to some sources was more like £5m or £6m up front with a load of extras paid in installments... and as said above, City don't want to sell to rival clubs. Where as the reports linking him to Saints are saying £8m... To be honest though, I'm not sure what to believe these days other than what is on the official site.
