I've been wondering about Lallana's role next year for a bit; in the PL I think we'd come undone against a lot of sides if he carries in his traditional role on the left. Also, as the Euros will have show, top level football is moving towards packing the midfield a lot more and keeping solid, rather than the traditional 4-4-2 (which really only ourselves and Italy stuck to so rigidly, Germany to a much lesser extent).
I think, for away games in particular, Lallana could be used as the third central midfielder, in behind Lambert. Also poentially against the top sides at home. Against those outside the top 5 or 6 I imagine we'll ge with the 442 with Lallana wide.

I think Sharp will inevitably get some games as we rotate the strikers. Even Rickie might get the odd rest. He's a good option. J Rod was expensive that once here that won't mean he will start every game.
I would love to see Adam in the centre. You dont need great pace to play there, and anyway he is mobile if not fast. You need touch and awareness and he has that in spades. He could link up more often with Rickie. I think that will cause anyone a problem. | 2519 forum posts

I am very positive as i look at the realistic picture two years ago i told you all Harding wasnt up to the championship, I was accused of moaning, what happened ? I think so, but with Steve Davis signing, who knows? So many options there now that Atkins could get spoilt for choice...
and, assuming Schniederlin is a shoe in, no one has even commented on what you do with Cork!!!!
Guly is now going to be a bench player surely.
Quality signings so far but all up front and midfield!
Let's get the goalkeeping department sorted, another real quality centre back and right back.. and you'll hear no complaints from me.
My dream signing would be Rui Patricio, but unlikely now as Man U have started to get interested.

Only on TUI could a comment about whether or not Sharp will start could be turned around to take a swipe at the club!
He probably wont start, I'd imagine if we go with two up top (I dont think we will) we'll start with Lambo and Rod... Sharp can still play a major but, I don't know if you've noticed but most good sides have four quality strikers and Sharp and Lee will play key roles this season (particularly with seven subs) but Rickie and Jay have to be favourites to start the opening few matches.

You also have taken many swipes at Kelvin Davis in the past. Last season he was voted Aaap3 Player of the Year, Championship Goalkeeper of the Year, and the year prior to that was voted League 1 Goalkeeper of the Year.
As you're negative about EVERYTHING Saints, you're bound to get the odd 'non exceptional' thing right eh?
