Freakish that Scienza's shot didn't go in, I had already cheered and looked away! Twice in a row FD doesn't stop a cross coming in and the opponents score. 2 points dropped. Looking a lot worse than last season, but still early days.

Looked leggy, the classic mark of a side that's playing its first two per week competitive games of the season, and on the road as well. And so it followed the script: tired players concede late. On the bright side, surely we'll beat both Birmingham City and Imps at St. Mary's, so the "win at home, draw on the road" strategy, four points every two games, is still on.

KriSaint added 00:35 - Sep 6 Lincoln with 4 players having played at championship level before + 1 player, (goal scorer Ladefoged) coming from the best league in Sweden (the tallest player on the pitch 4 his 6 foot 9). The rest of Lincolns players came from league 1 and below. Lincoln lived on their tallness and generel physicality and played the most heavy kick & rush ball you will see from any championship team this season. I thought we controlled things pretty well both before and after Welington scored his first for us; a Roberto Carlos style screamer from 30+ yeards up into the far corner. Beautiful. 5 minutes from the final whistle the Giant Ladefoged suddenly popped up near the far post and cool'ly directed a cross downwards to the ground seing the ball bouncing up into the roof of the goal, leaving goalkeeper Peretz little chance of saving the header. Larin had to be protected with the many game minutes coming fast an thick and was taken off after an hour. Mubama came on, and though he tried he didn't succeed with his few finishes (one or two headers) and not with his hold up play either - of such importance in a difficult, physical match like this. We came back with a point though, and we go again on tuesday at St. Mary's - probably as small favourites vs Swansea, who - though being top of table - struggled today in a 0-0 match at home to fellow welsh club Wrexham.
