Saints have loaned out two of their highest paid players.

Gregorz Rasiak & Rudi Skacel have left Saints, both out on loan for the rest of the season with aview to a permanent move.

Rasiak has headed to Premiership Bolton Wanderers whilst Skacel is off to Hertha Berlin.

In truth it will be a mixed reaction from the Saints fans, in Rasiak's case many will feel that it will be a big loss, but that will be tmepered with the fact that most will understand the reasons behind his move, last term with 19 goals in a little over half the season Rasiak was frozen out by ex manager George Burley, who for some reason preferred just about anyone to Gregorz.

Rasiak made 49 starts with 19 as sub for Saints, although these figures are distorted as Burley tended to bring him off in many games and some of the sub appearances were for a few minutes, but even taking this into account 29 goals from 70 appearances is phenomenal and it will make many Saints fans wonder what Burley was playing at.

The loss of Skacel will not be felt as hard, an undoubted talent he failed to find consistency, although many will feel he was never give a run in the side and he himself was frozen out by Burley.

The main reason they have both gone though is a clear sign that the board have given up on promotion and are now trimming the books as not only will Saints get a decent loan fee but with the club reportably losing £1 million a month this will probably save about £100k per month in wages.
