Saints Hope Lovren And Ramirez Not As Serious As Feared
Sunday, 19th Jan 2014 22:02

Despite worrying TV pictures of Gaston Ramirez and Dejan Lovren being stretchered off and being loaded into the back of an ambulance its hoped that its not as bad as it looked.

Ramirez did in fact go to hospital were an X ray showed no serious damage and he was allowed to join his team mates for the trip home, however its still feared he may have some ligament damage to the ankle plus a hairline fracture, serious enough but not as bad as feared.

In the case of Lovren sights of him being administered oxygen as he left the field looked bad, but he was stabilised in the dressing room and the decision was taken that he did not need to follow Ramirez to hospital and he joined his team mates for the trip home wearing a protective boot.

Although medical staff cant give a definite diagnosis till the swelling dies down its thought that it will be ankle ligament damage to some degree.

Lovren especially would be a big loss to Saints and depending on the seriousness could lead to a trip into the transfer market if only perhaps for a loan signing.
