Matt Le Tissier knows a bit about scoring goals, here he gives his opinion on why Chelsea are still short in the goalscoring stakes.

Chelsea must find themselves a world-class striker if they want to compete for the top prizes with all the big boys.

I’m not writing off the Blues in the Champions League because they can turn round a two-goal deficit this Tuesday against Paris St-Germain at the Bridge.

But Jose Mourinho, I’m sure, will be searching for at least one quality forward this summer.

Most major teams have a centre-forward you can hang your hat on who is going to get you a hat-full of goals.

Manchester City have got Sergio Ageuro, Liverpool look to Luis Suarez and there is Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie at Manchester United.

Those clubs that don’t have a world-class striker tend to be on the periphery of things like Arsenal-and the same applies to Chelsea.

Chelsea certainly need to bolster their forward department this summer.

Fernando Torres probably feels a little bit in limbo at the minute not knowing which way to turn these days.

He’s left on the bench for start of the Champions League quarter-final first-leg against St.Germain but in the next breath his manager is saying he’s got a future at the club.

Whether or not Demba Ba or Samuel Et’oo will be the ones to go or maybe all three of them who knows?

Atletico Madrid 33-goal ace Diego Costa is certainly one player high up on Chelsea’s list.

Doing a swap deal with Torres is one move that has been mooted with Fernando going back to his old club.

That maybe is the way for Chelsea to do a part-exchange deal without spending major millions.

That late third goal conceded in Paris certainly changed the complexion of the tie a bit.

The French club will be without the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the second leg but a two-goal deficit will be a real up-hill task for Chelsea.

But with the home crowd on their side you wouldn’t want to write the Blues off just yet.

Manchester United are still in their tie against holders Bayern Munich but it would be a major shock if they do get through.

Given the performance and the possession Bayern enjoyed at Old Trafford I would think David Moyes would be very happy that they drew 1-1 at the end.

Before the first game many people were thinking that Bayern would go through by five or six clear goals.

I’ve been encouraged a little bit by United’s performance although it’s quite unusual to see the away team have so much of the ball at Old Trafford.

It would, however, be a major shock if they did reach the semi-finals.

There wasn’t enough for me to think: “Blimey, they can go to Bayern and beat them in their own back yard.”

I do think the sending off of Bayern’s Bastian Schweinsteiger was harsh on the night.

He did slide in front of Wayne Rooney and the United man just swan-dived over his leg.

There’s too many referees giving out soft red cards these days and I think this was one of them.

Wayne has been on the receiving end of stuff like this and maybe it’s a case, I suppose, of some you win, some you lose.
