Jay Rodriguez was stretchered off in the first half at Man City after appearing to twist his knee after landing awkwardly.

Saints fans will be keeping their fingers crossed that Jay Rodriguez has not seriously damaged his knee after landing awkwardly after going for a ball in Saints clash at Manchester City, there was no contact with a City player, Rodriguez appeared to twist his knee as he landed after leaping to control a ball.

He immediately clutched his knee and looked to be in great pain, it was clear from the outset that this was not an injury that he would be able to continue with and a stretcher was called for with Rodriguez leg being immobilised.

Hopefully it wont be as bad as it looks and perhaps only a tweak, however from first view it looks like being more serious and could spell the end of his World Cup dreams in front of watching England boss Roy Hodgson.

Now we can only wait and hope that medical tests show something short term rather than long.
