Scummers And Skates ! The Good Work So Far
Tuesday, 15th Apr 2014 16:26

cummers And Skates is an excellent organisation with Saints and Pompey fans raising money for good causes, here is what they have achieved so far.

The list below is incredible, even more so when you think the work has been done by everyday Saints & Pompey fans who have given their time and effort to raise money to help those less fortunate, the list below is impressive, why not look them up on Facebook or the links below.

What we have been able to achieve so far with monies donated by the good people supporting us....

1) A tracker for Brandon to stop him straying.

2) Brandon's front garden entirely fenced off to give him a secure area to go outside and watch the buses he loves.

3) A monitor for Jamey Lee so mum does not have to sleep on her settee anymore as she can watch littl'un by video monitor and it will send an alarm if Jamey Lee stops breathing, plus £500 to Little J's Trust.

4) £500 cheque to St.Catherines School Sandown. (Jack's school)

5) £500 cheque to Heathfield Special School Fareham. (Jaiden's school)

6) £500 cheque to Aidens Walking Appeal.

After much anticipation and our very successful events last time, we return.

This time we have a few new projects that we are hoping to support we the help of all you Scummers, Skates and if like last time, a lot of our other friends.

This year we are targeting children with special needs, 5 specifically, either themselves or a charity that has really helped them. They are:

1) BRANDON.....Brandon has severe learning difficulties, epilepsy, meningocele, deafness in one ear, bilateral cleft lip and palate, laryngospasm, anaphylaxis, asthma, exzema and a heart murmur. (And prone to wandering off,as we found this week).
CHARITY...Brandon's needs are more specific to him so we shall be helping him out.

2) JACK....Jack has quite severe speech and communication needs. He has Oromotor dyspraxia, Autism, Organisational motor dyspraxia, Auditory memory difficulties and Complex speech disorder.

We are holding various events in the SO and PO postcode areas, and know we will get great support again. All monies raised will be divided equally between the children and put into their chosen charity or in Brandon's case direct to his family to help with his multitude of problems.

IF THERE ARE ANY COLLECTION POTS THAT NEED EMPTYING PLEASE LET US KNOW SO WE CAN ARRANGE COLLECTION.

Total raised to date is £4432 as of 14//04/2014

Thanks to everyone involved for all their hard work making this happen.

This is simply brilliant and heartwarming. Such a pity it does not get more publicity and recognition. Wouldn't it be wonderful if before the final home game fans from both sides with some representation of those that benefitted were paraded around. Wouldn't it be wonderful if it was mentioned on 606 etc instead of the endless coverage of some of the big teams. But most of all, it is a fantastic achievement.
