Saints Head To North London In Next Round Of The Capital One Cup
Wednesday, 27th Aug 2014 22:33

Saints are heading back to London as the big boys join the draw for the Capital One Cup third round.

Saints will travel to the Emirates to meet Arsene Wenger's Arsenal in the third round of the Capital One Cup.

Initially this looks like being a very difficult tie and although there can be no doubt it will be tough, the fact is that the Gunners will probably put out a weakened side given that this evening they won through to the next stages of the Champions league and this competition will probably be their priority between now and Xmas along with the Premier league.

Obviously it isn't the ideal draw for Saints, but if they can win though it will leave us with a great chance of progressing in this competition given that it would mean that Arsenal would be joining Man Utd as being knocked out, although the other so called big clubs have received what looks like on paper being fairly routine ties

That's a relief. I thought Saints might get drawn against MKDons.

Hopefully we can let them know they've been in a game, unfortunately the ref will put paid to any chance of us beating them at there place, lovely draw for the top four all at home hope they don't all get tired playing in Europe, see Chambers looks like being called up for England what a surprise, Clyne not good enough.coyr

If RoKo continues to respect the completion and play a strong side and Wenger doesn't then we have every chance. Better to play them at this stage when they have other priorities.

I wouldn't normally say this in this particular fixture, but I fancy our chances.
