Saints Submit Squad List To The Premier League Thursday, 4th Sep 2014 10:27 Saints have submitted a 20 man squad list to the Premier League, but before Saints fans get worried that doesnt include the U21 home grown players. With the transfer window shutting Saints have now had to submit their final squad list to the Premier League and if you think its simple then you could not be more wrong. Every team can have a maximum of 25 players in their squad, however that does not include those players under 21, so the likes of James Ward Prowse, Llloyd Isgrove etc do not need to be on the list. But the list can have no more than 17 players who do NOT meet the home grown criteria A 'home grown' player is classified as someone who, irrespective of age or nationality, has been registered with any club affiliated to the FA or the FA of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21). Before Saints fans get worried out of the list of 20, only 11 of them do not count as home grown. As mentioned before the list can be supplemented at any time with as many of the under 21 players as they like, so when you add the likes of James Ward Prowse etc who are in genuine first team contention the size of the squad will expand to around the 25 man mark SAINTS SQUAD LIST (Home Grown *) Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
