Sadio Mane Could Be Out For A Month In The New Year
Monday, 17th Nov 2014 13:07

Sadio Mane will be away from St mary's for a month in the New year after Senegal defeated current holders Egypt to qualify for the finals of the African Cup Of Nations.

Sadio Mane could be missing from the Saints squad for around a month as he plays for his country in Equatorial Guinea in the finals of the African Cup Of Nations, the tournament takes place between January 17th and February 8th.

Its unclear at the moment how long Mane could be away for, although its likely he will join up with his country straight after the home game against Arsenal on January 1st or at the latest after the trip to Manchester United on the 11th, if Senegal progress to the final then it is unlikely he will feature again till the Liverpool home game on the 21st February.

The likelihood though is that Senegal will not get that far and that Mane will be home around the end of the month possibly in time to face Swansea at St Mary's, if that is the case then he could miss only the League game against Newcastle plus an FA Cup tie.

Hopefully Saints will say no in January, but perhaps they will consider it good business given he hasnt kicked a ball in 8 months
