Tottenham Confirm Mitchell Appointment But Why Make Such A Fuss
Wednesday, 26th Nov 2014 21:14

Paul Mitchell was a name at Southampton that few Saints supporters had heard of until a few weeks ago when the Spurs hangers on in the press started to stir things up

The big surprise about the departure of Paul Mitchell from Southampton Football Club and his subsequent appointment at Tottenham Hotspur was that anyone heard about this at all let alone saw it splashed across the pages of the national newspapers and other media.

Usually when backroom staff move between football clubs no on is interested, so why is this move of such interest.

Obviously Saints didn't contact the media and get them to put the story out, indeed the usual retort from national newspapers when asked if they would like to publicise a backroom boy moving would be in two words, the second being off.

So the media interest is purely Spurs driven, from the first moment that it appeared as a rumour that Spurs were looking to persuade Mitchell to move at a time when he HD yet to hand his notice in to Saints, it was a controlled and concerted media campaign to try and convince Spurs supporters that Tottenham Hotspur Football Club wasn't in the complete chaos it seemed to be but for once actually had a long term plan that didn't involve sacking a manager every year or so and letting the replacement waste multi millions before repeating the process again (and again and again)

So that is why we know the name of Paul Mitchell he is yet another pawn in Daniel Levy's master plan, another name in an illustrious list that not only includes ex England managers like Glenn Huddle, wheeler dealers like Harry Redknapp's dog the first canine since Lassie to have its own bank account and various other people who in their sneaky ways have lived by the sword and eventually fallen on it.

That club is rotten to the core.
How convenient that business " burnt" down, the same one they were trying to buy as part of their stadium plans.
Just hope Mitchell hasn't leeched our transfer targets to pooch.

"Usually when backroom staff move between football clubs no on is interested, so why is this move of such interest." It isn't of interest so we shouldn't be talking about it. I live in Tottenham and it hasn't made the news here. It is a totally unimportant piece of drivel in the Sky 24 hour drivel culture that football now is. So this guy that nobody had heard of got his Andy Warhol 15 minutes.

Let's talk about things that matter - will Steven Davis be available for Sunday is what I am thinking about + poor old Philip Hughes...
