Newcastle vs Chelsea — Saturday 12:45pm

Papiss Demba Cisse has had limited time on the pitch this season, but that has not stopped him from becoming Newcastle’s top goalscorer. Cisse has bagged 5 goals in just 425 minutes of Premier League football, averaging out at a goal every 85 minutes, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. Cisse is 37/10 to score any time with 888sport.

Daryl Janmaat, signed in the summer, has proven to be a very astute signing. Janmaat has made 39 successful tackles, more than anyone else in the Newcastle squad and the twelfth highest total in the league. In addtition, Janmaat has made 34 interceptions, which is the ninth best in the division as well as being a squad best. Not only has Janmaat displayed defensive prowess, but he has also shown a willingness to work up and down the pitch. Over the course of the season, the Dutchman has covered 93.7 miles (150.8km), which ranks Janmaat in 8th for distance covered in the Premier League, one place ahead of his teammate, Jack Colback, who has covered 93.6 miles (150.7km), albeit having played a game less.

Paul Dummett has also been in top form this season. Having played on both the left side of defence as well as centre half, Dummett has been immaculate of late, regardless of his position. So far this season, Dummett has made 90 clearances, 39 more than the next highest total in the squad (Mike Williamson), according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index.

Chelsea continued their march at the top of the league midweek, beating Tottenham 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, after Sunderland held them to a point at the Stadium of Light on the weekend.

Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic have become the first players, alongside Jake Livermore, to cover over 100 miles this season. Fabregas has run a total distance of 101.9 miles (164.1km), while Matic has clocked up 101.2 miles (162.9km). The duo have formed a mighty partnership in central midfield, but it will be broken up against Newcastle after Matic picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against Spurs.

Matic will be particularly missed this weekend as he has made more successful tackles than any other Chelsea player, dispossessing the opponent 48 times this season, the third highest total in the Premier League. In addition to his efforts at breaking up the play, Matic has an exceptional range of passing and has a remarkable 89.9% success rate, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index.

Eden Hazard had yet another outstanding performance midweek, giving the Spurs right back Vlad Chiriches a torrid time. Hazard scored the opening goal of the game and brought his total for the season to five goals, ensuring he is Chelsea’s second top scorer behind Diego Costa. Hazard has also completed 65 successful dribbles in the league so far, making him by far and away the leader in said statistic, with his closest challengers being Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jefferson Montero with 42 successful dribbles to their names. Hull vs West Brom — Saturday 3pm

Jake Livermore was this week one of three players to first pass the 100-mile mark for the season. Livermore has covered 100.1 miles (161.1km) over the first fourteen games this season, the third most in the division behind Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. Livermore is also one of only two players in the Hull squad to have featured in every game this season, alongside Ahmed Elmohammady. Livermore is 17/2 to score any time with 888sport.

Elmohammady himself has shown some impressive stats himself. The Egyptian has put in the fourth highest number of successful crosses in the Premier League this year, having successfully found his man on 17 occasions, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. Elmohammady has also run at 21.5mph (34.6 km/h) this season, faster than any other Hull player.

Defender Curtis Davies has made the fourth most clearances in the Premier League this season, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. The central defender has now cleared his lines 136 times this season. The next highest total in the Hull squad is Michael Dawson’s 100, which ranks him 13th in the division.

West Brom have now lost four games on the bounce but remain a point above Hull in 16th place. Alan Irvine will be desperate to get back to winning ways and pull away from those at the bottom of the table. A win against Hull could well be seen as a six-pointer.

In Cristian Gamboa, West Brom possess the sixth fastest player in the Premier League, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. Gamboa has been clocked running at 21.7mph (35.0 km/h). The next closest in the West Brom squad is Saido Berahino at 21.0mph (33.7 km/h).

Berahino remains West Brom’s top scorer this season, on seven goals. The striker has scored a goal for every four shots he has had. As well as this, Berahino has completed exactly 50% of his dribbles successfully (11/22) and his pace has been a constant threat to defenders when running at them. Berahino is 41/20 to score any time with 888sport.

Craig Gardner has displayed a very impressive set of statistics for West Brom this season, most notably the defensive aspects of his game. Gardner has made 35 interceptions, the eighth most in the league, as well as 46 successful tackles, the sixth highest total in the league.

Liverpool vs Sunderland — Saturday 3pm

Martin Skrtel put in an impressive performance against Leicester last time out and is set to start again against Sunderland this Saturday. Cattermole has also made 37 tackles this season, the most in the Sunderland squad. He is, however, one of three Sunderland players who is in the top 20 for successful tackles, alongside Sebastion Larsson (36) and Patrick Van Aanholt (34), showing that they have plenty of players willing to get stuck in.

Further up the pitch, Connor Wickham is standing out for different reasons. Wickham has recorded the fastest sprint speed of anyone in the Sunderland squad, clocking a speed of 21.2mph (34.1 km/h), according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. Wickham is 17/5 to score any time with 888sport.

Stoke v Arsenal — Saturday 15:00

The one man who did manage to find the net was midfielder Steven N’Zonzi who has been in fine form for the Potters, as shown by the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. Key to N’Zonzi’s success has been his work rate, and he has covered the fifth most ground in the Premier League, completing 156.5km already. He has also won 77.7% of his 28 tackles so far this term and showed his quality on the ball, completing a squad best 673 passes with an accuracy of 85.6%

One man who will be keen to get back on the score sheet this weekend is Bojan. The former Barcelona starlet has been on fine form according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, both scoring and creating a goal apiece. Having hit a top speed of 32.93km/h already this season, the strike will be looking to use his pace to trouble defenders. He is 4/1 to score anytime with 888sport.com.

At the back, the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index shows how Stoke are dependent on their skipper Ryan Shawcross to continue leading the line. The centre back has won 79.2% of his 24 tackles and has made 26 interceptions already so far this season. Most impressive are the 106 clearances that he has racked up this season, and if he continues in the same solid ways, Stoke will be a difficult side to break down on Saturday.

Arsenal will come into this fixture with plenty of positive energy after an Alexis Sanchez goal against Southampton saw them clinch all three points for the second game in a row. Arsenal sit in sixth position, but could move into third place prior to Monday night’s match and will be keen to entertain that possibility.

Alexis Sanchez appears to be single handedly beating teams at the moment, and has showed no sign of slowing up his form, as illustrated by the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. The Chilean international has scored his nine goals at an average of 116.7 minutes, hitting the target with 74.1% of his 27 shots. Whilst Sanchez is in top form, Danny Welbeck is also on fine form for Arsenal. Ramsey will be the man to make Arsenal tick having completed 672 passes already this year with an accuracy of 85.6%, and will look to add to his scoring and assist columns.

Tottenham v Crystal Palace — Saturday 15:00

One man who has consistently delivered for Tottenham this season, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, is Christian Eriksen. The Danish international midfielder has covered more ground than anybody else in the Spurs squad, completing 147.9km already this term. Having already managed five goals this season, he will look to concentrate on adding to his one assist for the season, and with 406 passes completed inside the opposition half, he will threaten to create more goals for Tottenham.

He will be looking to create these chances for Spurs’ young England U21 international, Harry Kane. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index reveals that the striker has scored and created two goals apiece, hitting the target with 66.6% of his 15 shots. Another man who will both look to provide for Kane and be a goal scoring threat himself, is Tottenham’s Nacer Chadli. His quality on the ball is confirmed by his 85.8% of passes completed, and his distribution will prove a major asset to Spurs on Saturday.

This weekend’s visitors to White Hart Lane are making the trip across the river, and Crystal Palace will prove a tough test for this Tottenham side. Palace go in search of their first win in three games, since a comprehensive victory over Liverpool, and will want to give themselves more breathing room than the one point cushion above the relegation zone currently provides them with.

If there is any man to drag Palace away from danger, it will be the inspirational lead Mile Jedinak. The Australian captain has been in fantastic form this season and this is illustrated by the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. The midfielder has created one goal, and scored a further five for the Eagles, winning 80% of his 70 tackles making a remarkable 53 interceptions, to help put Palace back on the front foot in an instant.

Up top, Frazier Campbell has been in fantastic form for Palace, as has Dwight Gayle, and it appears that is will be a straight shoot out for the one out and out forward role. It would appear that Campbell has the upper hand, having scored three goals to Gayle’s two, and having got 16 shots off as opposed to Gayle’s four strikes. Campbell has also hit a higher top speed of 33.78km.h compared to Gayles’ 32.89km/h, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index.

However, when reading further into the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index statistics, we realize that Gayle has actually hit the target with 75% of his shots, scoring with 50% of his overall shots. Campbell in contrast, has only hit the target with 50% of his shots, convertin three of his 16 chances. The most prominent statistic, however, is that Gayle has averaged a goal every 180.5 minutes with Campbell getting a goal at an average of 301 minutes. Either way, both striker’s will pose a threat and it will be interesting decision to see which striker gets the nod.

QPR v Burnley — Saturday 15:00

The R’s main man this year has been Charlie Austin, and he is looking to continue his hot streak with more goals this weekend. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index reveals that the English striker has scored half of Ranger’s 14 league goals this season, creating a further two goals. Behind him in the middle of the park, Leroy Fer is the player who is most likely to take hold of the midfield for QPR. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index reveals that the Dutch international has won 72.7% of his 33 tackles, also making 13 clearances and 12 interceptions. He has also hit the woodwork more than any other Premier League player this season, with three of his eleven shots coming back off the frame of the goal, and will be hoping that one of his shots can find the net this weekend.

At the other end of the pitch, QPR still have the worst defensive record in the league and will be hoping that Steven Caulker is the man to fix that for them. He will be looking to add to his eight blocks already this season to ensure a clean sheet for the R’s.

Burnley will be looking to make the long trip down south worthwhile by leaving Loftus Road with all three points this weekend. Burnley are not unbeaten in four, and are going in search of their third win in five games, to make it 11 points from a possible 15. Burnley will be confident coming into the fixture and will hope to climb out of the relegation zone for the first time this season.

Key to Burnley reversal in fortunes has been their solid defence over the last four matches conceding just three times. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index reveals how important Tom Heaton has been to Burnley, racking up an impressive 45 saves already this season averaging 2.05 saves for each goal conceded. He will need to be on fine form to keep out the in-form Austin this weekend.

Burnley have an in-form striker of their won up their sleeve, in the form of Danny Ings. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index reveals that the forward has bagged four goals and an assist already this season. Everton will come into the fixture looking for their first win in three, after a defeat to Tottenham and an even share of the goals in their last outing against Hull. Whilst the Toffees are clearly capable of scoring goals, they have conceded more goals than every side in the top half of the Premier League, and rectifying that this weekend will be the key to coming away with the points.

In the middle of the park, Gareth Barry will certainly have a job on his hands to cope with the superstar line-up that Man City put out every week. Up top, Everton will be hoping that Lukaku continues in the same vain, with the Belgian forward grabbing six goals so far this term. West Ham v Swansea — Sunday 13:30

One man who continues to make such an impact on the West Ham side and their terrific solid backline, is Aaron Cresswell. Aston Villa v Leicester — Sunday 16:00

Whilst not having been involved as much as he would like through injury, Benteke will always be a threat up top due to his work rate, which has also seen him win 75% of his tackles this season. With Benteke being absent for a large part of the start of the season, the goal scoring responsibility fell on the shoulders of Andreas Weimann , who has duly delivered. He remains Villa’s joint top scorer and his work rate remains the same, having won 68% of his 25 tackles so far this term. Behind the two Villas threats up front, Ashley Wetwood has been quietly getting on with his business, as revealed by the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. The 24 year old English midfielder has covered just over 150km already this season, and will look to make his fitness count in the match, certainly as it wears on. He has also won 68% of his 22 tackles this season and made 20 interceptions, and will be hoping that his work rate can see him come out on top in the battle for the midfield.

Sunday’s visitors to Villa Park are fellow midlands based Leicester City, who will be looking to re-capture their early season form that saw them beat teams such as Manchester United. However, the Foxes are now without a win in nine games and will be hoping that they can reverse their fortunes come the weekend.

Key to Leicester getting anything out of the game will be solidifying things at the back, and they will look to Ritchie De Laet to deliver this for them. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index reveals that the former Manchester United full back has won 71.2% of his 66 tackles, making 77 clearances. He has also made a staggering 41 interceptions, which may present him with the opportunity to get forward and double his assists tally for the season.

In midfield, Leicester will be hoping that wide man Riyad Mahrez can continue his bright start to the season, as noted by the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. The Algerian international has both created and scored a goal a piece, and he will be looking to add to his five completed crosses so far this campaign to turn provider again. He has also completed 22 dribbles so far this term and will give the option of delivery or taking on the man, which will make it tough for his opposing full back.

The man he will be looking to provide is Argentinian forward Leonardo Ulloa.
