Cork Out For Six Weeks But There Is Good News
Saturday, 6th Dec 2014 10:55

Saints fans will be disappointed to hear that Jack Cork is likely to be out for around six weeks although there is good news.

Jack Cork is likely to be out until the middle of January with the ankle ligament damage picked up in the defeat at Arsenal.]

This is a big blow to Saints who already find their central midfield department stretched to the limit with injuries not just to Cork but Morgan Schneiderlin and long term casualty James Ward Prowse.

However their is good news in that Ronald Koeman also confirmed that he would like to keep Cork beyond the end of this season so hopefully the club will open contract negotiations with the player himself in the near future.

Certainly it is something that would please Saints supporters if Cork was to sign up for another deal and now the ball will be firmly in the court of the club and the player himself to sort things out.

It is inexplicable why first Pochettino and subsequently Koeman have taken so long to recognise the value of Jack Cork to the taem and the squad. Even more so now that he has started to score occasional goals.

There are many supporters who rightly consider him to be one of our most valuable players, not least because of his adaptability.

Let's get him signed up without any more dithering about.
