A look at all the statistics ahead of the game against The Toffee's at St Mary's this afternoon

Southampton v Everton — Saturday 15:00

Southampton fell to their fifth defeat in a row last weekend as they lost 1-0 to Burnley at Turf Moor thanks to Ashley Barnes’ second half winner.

If Southampton are to regain some of their early season form then midfielder Dusan Tadic will no doubt be at the heart of it. The Serbian midfielder has acclimatised quickly to the Premier League, registering 23 attempts on goal, the second highest total in the Saints squad, with 56.5% of them working the ‘keeper. He’s also racked up seven assists so expect him to play a key role in unlocking the Everton defence this weekend. Tadic is an industry best 3/1 to score at any time this weekend with 888sport.com.

Some of Southampton’s creative talents may have been getting the plaudits this season, but midfielder enforcer Victor Wanyama has been equally important to Ronald Koeman’s side this season. He’s attempted 62 tackles so far this term, winning an excellent 82.2% of them. This gives him not just the best tackle success rate of any midfielder in the top 20 in the league for total tackles, but the best rate for any player who has attempted more than 60 tackles.

Morgan Schneiderlin has been at the centre of everything in the Southampton engine room. According to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index he’s completed a pass in the opponent’s half on average every 2.7 minutes he’s been on the pitch this season.

Everton’s excellent run of home league form continued on Monday night as they claimed all three points with a 3-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park, the pick of the goals being Ross Barkley’s superb drive which opened his account for the season.

Barkley’s stunning strike showed he is on course to make a return to top form for Roberto Martinez’s side. His fearless streak and technical ability have been on full show at times this season, his driving runs being a particular feature of his game. It’s therefore unsurprising to see that he tops the table for dribbles at Everton with 30 to his name this season according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index.

Frontman Romelu Lukaku has been having a strong season following his permanent transfer to Goodison Park. The Belgian striker has so far registered an impressive 33 shots on goal, 60.6% of which have been on target, and six goals. Lukaku is an industry best 12/5 to score at any time this weekend with 888sport.com.

Captain Phil Jagielka has been putting in a serious shift this season, covering more distance than any other Everton player. He’s ran for a total of 153.8km this campaign, meaning he’s covering an average of 8,862m per 90 minutes this term.
