Saints Looking To Raid Fratton Park Tuesday, 23rd Dec 2014 13:10 Saints are weighing up whether to launch a bid for Portsmouth midfielder Jed Wallace in the January transfer window. Saints have been reported in the media as having sent a scout to watch Pompey's Jed Wallace at their recent League Two game at Cheltenham Town and are now weighing up whether to make an offer in the January transfer window. Wallace has been the subject of speculation recently that he has been watched by several Championship and Premier clubs and it would be a big blow to Andy Awford if he was to lose just about the only player in his squad who knows how to kick a football properly. Wallace who was born in Reading will be 21 in March and joined Pompey after being in the youth teams of several non league teams where he came to the attention of Pompey in 2011, he made his debut in January 2013 and has been a regular ever since. Although not a favourite of Richie Barker, Wallace refused several new contract offers in 2013/14 he was still a regular and committed himself to Pompey in the summer of this year for 3 years, although rumours are that Pompey will be unable to turn down a decent cash bid for him. We were unable to get a direct quote from Jed Wallace on whether he would be willing to cross the Hampshire divide, however after being leaked a standard template from the sports pages of the Portsmouth News newspaper, we feel that this would be fairly near to what he would have said if we had have asked him. " From the moment I signed for Pompey I realised that this was the biggest club in the world with the bestest most passionate fans, that being the case I never intend to leave ever, Pompey is in my blood and i love the sound of a ringing bell and out of time drums. Pompey is in your blood innit, you cant help but starting to speak like Chas & Dave the moment you step foot in the place, it has that sort of effect on you, the scummaaaaahhhhhs just don' get it, it aint about big crowds its about grass roots and playing in front of the most passionate fans in the world who havent got a Lynx Christmas box set between em, but know about passion its Pompey innit. I fee that if I stay at Fratton and keep myself fit then i can play till im about 40, that being the case there is every chance i can lead them back to where they belong in the Championship one day and that would be a dream come true for me and every Pompey fan. Anyway why would i want to leave passion, bells, drums, BO, Fratton has it all plus a guaranteed security job when I retire at the new Tescos being built instead of a new stand" ***************Breaking News******************* " A grand a week wheres the M27 " Photo: Action Images via Reuters Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
