Yet Another Biggest Game Of The Season Coming Up
Monday, 16th Feb 2015 10:04

It is starting to become a cliche, but the game against Liverpool is truly our biggest game of the season so far and could well be a pivotal moment in this season.

The Premier League table is hotting up with only 5 points seperating Manchester United in 3rd and Liverpool in 7th with Saints sat right in the middle.

That makes Sunday's game against Liverpool even more important, a win for Saints would see them surge 7 points ahead of the Merseyside club a big gap with only 12 games remaining, whilst defeat would see them only a point behind us and with the momentum in their hands.

That being the case this fixture could well be the most pivotal of the season as it is the one that sees us keep our challenge going or get hauled back into the pack.

Therefore we have to make sure that it is the former and that come the end of the weekend we are still in that top four.

Liverpool have certainly revived of late, but they are still more a collection of good individuals rather than a team and we need to put a dent in their ambitions, the final run in is a collection of small steps that add up to a giant one, but this one along with the visit of Spurs is bigger than most, if we take it on Sunday and come out with all three points then it will be a big big moment.

Many sides in the top 7 will be playing each other in the next few weeks it is a great opportunity for Saints to consolidate our top four position.

I have a feeling, we will be the end of their good run lately. The intensity of the crowd will be massive, and all the players will be up for it. I expect to see Victor Wanyama to completely dominate the midfield. Eli, Mane, Tadic and Duricic will run their defence ragged. Our defence will be it's usual solid miserly self. Possibly only 1 - 0 but 3 - 0 wouldn't surprise me.

I totally agree Nick. I fear if we lose momentum now it is going to be season over for us with the big teams with the bigger squads gaining momentum. On the other hand I hope Zambucco's right and we beat them because on the flipside with players coming back this could be the kind of run that sends us the right way. I feel it's so pivotal that it's literally one or the other. Our players aren't used to being in this position and we have Koeman to thank for that. Winning big games will give them the belief that Europe can still be achieved.
