Wednesday, 18th Mar 2015 13:35

Saints are still looking at Martin Odegaard even though they failed to land him in the January transfer window.

Saints are rumoured to still be considering Martin Odeggard the Norwegian wonderkid who they and a host of other clubs were linked with in January, Odegaard was believed to be interested in joining Saints over so called bigger clubs (and Spurs) because of their track record in bringing through youngsters and giving them a chance in the first team.

Odegaard eventually opted for Real Madrid, but has found himself playing for the Club's reserve side Real Madrid Castilla and indeed on the day that a Saints scout was allegedly in attendance was only on the bench.

The attacking midfielder who has made 3 full appearances for Norway despite only turning 16 in December, however after signing it was announced that although he would train with the first team he would actually play for the reserves and although he has been allocated a squad number for the first team's Champions League squad it is the reserves he continues to play for.

It is being speculated that Saints are considering making a bid to take Odegaard on loan next season and this may appeal to the Spanish club and indeed the player.
