Lambert To Tottenham Hotspur
Thursday, 30th Jul 2015 11:35

Mauricio Pochettino is about to make an audacious to bring Rickie Lambert to White Hart Lane according to the latest media reports.

Pochettino wants to take Lambert to North London as back up to Harry Kan although he is also looking to sign further attacking options.

Tony Pulis will have something to say about that and is quoted in the Liverpool Echo as saying about Lambert.

“Rickie is available,” Pulis said. “Liverpool have made that known. We’d be interested. It’s very important that we get players who will score goals. Rickie’s got a great goalscoring record.”

Liverpool are looking to offload Lambert who is now way down the pecking order at Anfield and unlikely to even get on the bench this season given that he is one of 8 strikers, unless there is a major injury crisis.

A move to Spurs would be lucrative for Lambert, but footballing wise h would be far better at West Brom, at White Hart Lane he would be in the same position he was last season at Anfield, ie struggling to get much game time, whereas at West Brom he would have a far better chance of playing a big part in their season.

I told him at the time it would be a big mistake. I said "Ricardo (that's what I call him) finish your days here, you're already a legend, but go out with syle. Liverpool may have been your boyhood team, but they're not the same team now. You'll end up tossed aside like a used condom" Apparently my hearftfelt words fell on deaf ears.

He could have stood alongside Le God, well one pace behind. Now he's going to be journeyman, possibly ending his days back in the lower leagues, being linked with Pompey!!! Rags to riches to rags!

I think he got carried away with it all.A late bloomer it just got better and better for him.
Even my 7 year old still loves him, but he made a mistake and went to work for the wrong man.
Ricky followed his dream. Brendan was buying an insurance policy.
Still a legend in my book, but it shouldn't have ended like this
